WARNING* (sad, but worth reading) I was working at the large gift shop by the front entrance of Canobie Lake Park today. There was one hour of downtime at 4 oclock, in which no one entered the store. Thats when the cutest three year old boy Ive ever seen in my life walked into the shop with his grandfather. The little boy had blond hair, blue eyes and was a perfect little angel; he was incredibly sweet and completely well behaved. The grandfather asked me to help him find a toy which would be suitable for his grandson, and since I was all alone, I spent a while playing with little boy, and helping him find a toy that he liked. Thats when the grandfather gave me the best compliment ever, telling me that I would make a fantastic mother someday. When the boy decided on his toy I mentioned to the grandfather that the little boy was incredibly lucky to have a person in his life like him, that would take him to the park on a Monday afternoon, and buy him a toy. The grandfather replied :yeah from now on every single Mondaywe will spend together doing something fun. He said the little boys father just died in Afghanistan.. just then the boy came up and hugged his grandfather... the old man just looked at me and said he doesnt know yet.. They left the store soon after, and I almost teared up watching the boy leave, but Ill not forget the reminder, to appreciate those we have while theyre here.
