WARNING, this is a really, really, really, long rant post. Yay \o/ (actually, I just wanna share my experience :P ) Okay, so right now Im totally fine and positive and the usual cheerful and weirdo self, but I just want to get this out of my chest. I must say, this is by far the worst con Ive ever been to. We arrived at SM Megamall at 10:50 AM - we were already inside the supermarket before the mall itself opened. Walking as calmly as we can, by the time we arrived at the 5th flr of the mall, a security guard pointed to the stairs and told us that its the line for the tickets. Guess what? The end of the line was at the LOWER GROUND FLOOR. From there, I began to feel nervous of not being able to participate for the karaoke contest - its the only reason why I went to the con. Having enough time to prepare, it was already 12 NN and the line still wasnt moving. When it began moving, I had a bad feeling that the only reason its moving is because the line got worse and I was right. We were told to go inside hall 2 for the line. Seeing the very long line, I began to feel really, really frustrated of not being able to join the karaoke contest anymore. Still, I tried to be as positive as possible even though I havent eaten lunch yet and there was no air at all inside the hall which gave me a hard time breathing and making me feel claustrophobic. I lost my temper when a few people in front of us arent paying enough attention to the line - the ones in front of them are already beside us (the line was a zigzag of sort) and still, they didnt notice a thing. We kept on calling them and waving at them and still nothing when finally, they noticed. It was already 2 PM and were still in line for the tickets. The karaoke already begun and I began feeling more and more frustrated but once again, I tried to be as positive as I can. I just said that He wants me to join the same contest but on a different convention. I never thought that a hall was that big, LOL. It was already 3 PM and HALLELUJAH, we were finally able to have tickets. We decided to have a super duper late lunch first since theres another line for going inside the con. Around 4 PM, we went inside the con. I felt like I was a sardine. I was ordering a jacket from Authority Hoodie and people just kept on pushing. The exhibitors were already standing on the chairs! I wasnt able to roam around too much because of the number of people. A lot of people were really pushy and some displays were falling, exhibitors were having a hard time already. I remember being told by a staff from the Ozine Fest last April to be early next time so that Ill still be able to join the contest. Well, that next time was supposed to be today. I went as early as I can be but still nothing. I was able to remove my stress from buying some stuff and laughing with my friends - I enjoyed the event because of my friends, not because of the con itself. TBH, I dont know who to blame: the people/con-goers or the organizers?
