WARNING to all Democrats on Immigration Reform saving a $trillion. Ha! I love the new media, especially because those of us who care and write, can now be posted, roasted or hoisted up the flag pole again and again. As a Democrat American I believe reform is needed, to find a method to this madness that is smart and works for all, not just the 1% Wall-Streeters, not just the Latinos who hold our election process hostage. Referring to the new Obama / Immigration / $Trillion dollar claims more than a decade away, please allow me to remind you of the same empty, still unproven political promises by 1% Wall-Streeters and top election campaign contributors that “NAFTA was a good thing.” Ross Perot was right, it “sucked”. As a direct result the standard-of-living of all middle class American has almost disappeared. Of the thousand people I keep in touch with on a weekly basis, retail cashiers, strangers at the bus stop, co-workers in South Orange County CA, not one believes Americans will be better off with more Immigrants / Latinos. This group includes most all the Latinos I am casual friends with. The opposite is true. Please refer to European immigration disasters covering the last generation of ‘family’s and securities’ hot topics for those baby-boomer English, French, Italians or Greeks. (the list goes on). If the real problem over population? I don’t think so, unless of course we continue to allow Latino anchor-babies. The real problem is forced upon us, unnecessary unwelcome inherent occupation of our neighborhood. Breaking down higher standards by undermining. Corporations in offshore countries might enjoy breaking up better understanding of basic needs in higher quality of living societies. Media propaganda is becoming more worrisome, there is much more hate mongering by T.V. news heads. If there is such a thing, it is the common sense Rights of family union-like belief systems. Life. Liberty. Not Poverty does offer basic access to potential happiness. It is not working two or three jobs to pay the bills. If you believe what I am hearing in the news media, you are being told that Americans alone cannot grow our financial security. I disagree, because 99% percent of the problem can be fixed here within our borders by making government more responsive to citizens. Fact is, prior to NAFTA that most manufacturing in the U.S. did constantly search for lower wage employees. But, now with American industrialized regions moving to Pacific / Indian offshore commonwealth regions, (after NAFTA) there is less and still less retention of wealth by the American middle class. Though the rich enjoy getting richer the poor have their life impacted, tortured by the downfall of losing livable wage incomes to these immagrants. Obama staff / advisors claims these reform will cut the deficit. What b.s. To cut the deficit we must cut government incompetence or corruption in all three segments of this sad Republic form of government. To do so, your web participation is needed. As for the Obama proposal, building up a selection process to obtain offshore foreign entrepreneurs, this too is crazy. Proof of this, is that most all products are moved offshore after the initial R&D, product introductions. Therefore, this statement borders incompetence of staff. Yes, there may be creative new jobs – whatever that is, it is more likely a service job, and more likely good English speaking skills are not required. The Obama thinking is transparent, good but not constructive: A skilled work force does not mean more manufacturing, it means ‘skills of assembly’. Whatever jobs may be up and coming in America and require assembly, it is most likely that the small nimble fingers connected to Pacific Rim hands and arms would be the best investment. Or, a common sense investment, with better return on investment. After all, we are not trying to improve the quality of living of these immigrants are we? Therefore, Immigration Reform must be equal to the job at hand, whatever that is? Sadly, we are decades past the argument, that ‘livable wages’ must be equal to / or greater than my definition of ‘financial family values’. DaveBartholomew at cox dot net.
