WATCH HAIDER- Just read a very disturbing message circulating on whatsapp demanding a boycott on Haider. The only thing it stated elaborately was that all these fads like freedom of expression and artistic creativity are crap and how dare anyone say anything against armed forces ! Why do we even need censors if they cant stop films like these. Please ignore nonsense like this if you come across it. Haider is one of the best films of the year. The politics represented is based on first hand experiences by journalist Basharat Peer, which are recorded in his acclaimed book Curfewed Night and he is involved in the screenplay. And a film is always a film, not a documentary. Job of Censor is not banning anything which shows a little spine, or artistic freedom. Cowards who circulate crap like this anonymously, should identify themselves and openly discuss the matter so they can be properly addressed by filmmakers. And why havent they objected to the book which is there for some time and is awarded as well as acclaimed. Maybe because reading books is a tedious task. Watching films and saying all kind of stupid things ( anonymously) is simple enough. So dont legitimise this crap. And please tell your friends as well.
