WATCH THIS AND L(Your)FAO. Somewhere back in the early 80s I must have gotten struck in the head by lightning and lost my mind: I went and became a chiropractor. I thought I would learn some science about the spine and the nervous system. Instead, this is what I learned: bullshit; anti-science; superstition; dogma. The president of my college (Dr. Sid E. Williams, bragged about adjusting and correcting a cross-eyed chicken. Our philosophy teacher pulled a handgun from his pants pocket and putting it to his head, proclaimed, If my spine is in in line, I can pull this trigger and Ill be fine......Recently, I was wildly quoted out of context by a chiropractor who was touting his new, best-ever technique. Let me be clear: I cant believe chiropractic is still legal; the only science chiro students learn is junk science; I am eternally grateful for mentors such as Robin McKenzie, Karel Lewit, John Mennell, Vladamir Janda, and Diane Jacobs. Thank goodness for science, for reality, and for other, more cherished degrees.
