WATER DAMAGE: While at the Business Connection yesterday I was talking to a lady and she said she had four broken iPhones at home. I asked her if the screen were broken and she said three of them had been dropped in water. I thought maybe I should let folks know what to do when that happens. We have all heard about drying the phone out in a bag of rice and that does take the moisture out of the phone but that does not fix the problem. The first thing that happens when the phone gets wet is the phone shuts down. Do not try and turn it back on, even after drying it out. The water may be gone but there are mineral deposits that will eat the electronic circuits on your circuit board and connectors. Sometimes your phone will even work for a few days and then die. Before that happens bring it in to Phone Medic and we will take the phone apart and put the circuit board in a ultrasonic cleaner and get rid of the deposits. We will also take a brush with a special solution and clean the deposits from the connectors. Many times we can save your phone if we can get to it before permanent damage happens.
