WATER OUTAGE UPDATE: Public Works officials have restored pressure in the water lines servicing Tarawa Terrace, Knox Cove, Knox Landing and Camp Johnson residents, following an overnight break in the water main supplying those areas. As a reminder, residents are being asked to conserve water throughout the day to allow the elevated storage tanks to refill completely with treated water, and the Boil Water Advisory remains in effect until bacteria tests indicate the water is safe to drink. The test for bacteria will be performed only when the storage tanks have been completely filled, and it typically takes about 24 hours to obtain those results. Until that time, consumers in these areas may use tap water for hand washing, showering, and washing clothes only. Until further notice, residents in these areas are advised to continue to boil water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation) or use bottled water. Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water. The Boil Water Advisory will most likely remain in effect until Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning. Your patience is appreciated.
