WATER RATIONING UPDATES January 8, 2015; 2:00p.m. The Butuan City Water District (BCWD) was expecting flood water at the Taguibo River in Anticala to subside a few days after Tropical Storm Seniang hit the area. However, as of press time, BCWD personnel cannot work on the repairs of the heavily damaged Infiltration Gallery, the intake facility from our main source, as the level of flood water is still high and the water current is strong. As a result, the City is still experiencing intermittent water supply. BCWD is currently operating the five (5) pumping stations on the average production yield of 40% of the normal operation. The District is now busy preparing three (3) other old pumping stations which will be re-energized so that it can be utilized as an additional source of water supply. Aside from that, BCWD will still continue with the water rationing through valving and tankers. Only the following Barangays will have water on the following schedules: VALVE RATIONING Agao, Bayanihan, Datu Silongan, Diego Silang, Golden Ribbon, Imadejas, JP Rizal, Lapu-Lapu, Maon, New Society Village, Rajah Soliman, Urduja, Bit-os, Bonbon, Libertad South, Pangabugan, San Vicente, Villa Kananga - January 8, 2015 (2:00 p.m. - 8:00p.m.) - January 9, 2015 (6:00a.m. - 10:00a.m.) - Jnauary 9, 2015 (6:00p.m.-10:00p.m.) Bading, Buhangin, Dagohoy, Fort Poyohon, Holy Redeemer, Humabon, Leon Kilat, Limaha, Obrero, Obrero, Ong Yiu, San Ignacio, Sikatuna, Tandang Sora, Agusan Pequeño, Ambago, Doongan, Libertad North, Lumbocan, Masao, Pagatpatan, Babag - January 9, 2015 (12:00m.n. - 4:00a.m.) - January 9, 2015 (12:00n.n.- 4:00p.m.) - January 10, 2015 (12:00m.n. - 4:00a.m.) Even with the scheduled rationing through valving, there are still areas that cannot be catered by BCWD. As such, tankers are used to ration water to these areas. Water for the tankers is taken from BCWD’s Pump Station No. 1 and an additional source at Barangay Tiniwisan.
