WAVE extends sincere thanks to Mairi Steele for all she has done for women & girls in Australia in her time with the Australian Public Service, including with WGEA and later head of Office for Women.As well as her contributions to policy, & her open collaborative style of working, Mairi was also an inspiration to a number of Australian delegations at CSW meetings at the UN in NYC, where her expertise around gender, and skill as negotiator, for the betterment of gender equity internationally as well as at home was demonstrated. We wish her well in her future.
