WCCW Recap 06.08.2013 WCCW Reporter First, I would like to send out a job well done to ring announcer Mike Mayhem; Saturday was Mike’s last night and I wish him all the luck with his future! We’ll miss ya Mike! Scott Diamond hit the ring and was shinning bright with his new cane with a huge diamond on top of it; however, he didn’t say much due to The Voice coming out to make an announcement. Black Rain got on the mic and told the audience that he got a call during the week from Legendary Larry D and it seemed that Larry had a change of heart about the whole three way tag team street fight and wanted to personally apologize to the fans right there in the WCCW ring. Larry’s music started playing and out came….Barney…the dinosaur! Barney got in the ring and was whispering things to say and Black Rain was telling the crowd; Barney wanted them to know that he hated the WCCW fans and King Hustle’s Court wanted to forfeit the match. Barney didn’t get to say much more because the real Legendary Larry D, along with Chris Majors and King Hustle came out to the ring to end the joke. Larry made it very clear that King Hustle’s Court loves the fans of WCCW and then he let Majors attack Barney. Barney the dinosaur hit the mat, rolled out and hit the concrete and didn’t move for several minutes while Larry offered to have the three way tag match now; however, that wasn’t going to happen and Barney finally made it back to the locker room. RAVISHING RONNIE ROBERTS VS MAXX SLEDD Ronnie Roberts took early control of the match and never really lost it; however, Maxx Sledd wasn’t about to lay down. Both guys hit some great moves and it was looking really good for Max when he had a full nelson hooked on Roberts. Roberts got to the corner and climbed up the turnbuckles while Maxx still had the full nelson hooked. The ref told Maxx that he had to break the hold, unluckily for Roberts, Maxx did just that, which sent Roberts slamming to the mat. Maxx was impressive against the Triple R Superstar but he was surprised with a super kick and Roberts rolled him up for the pin. Roberts is on a winning streak and won’t give up until he gets a title match against the WCCW Champion. WINNER – RAVISHING RONNIE ROBERTS The next match brought out the newest Frat Boy, Abercrombie who offered an open challenge to anyone in the locker room. ABERCROMBIE VS THOMAS FABIO Brandon Taggart came out with the newest Frat Boy, Abercrombie and assured the crowd that not only would he kill Alex Angel later tonight but that Abercrombie would beat anyone from the locker room; the lights went out and Thomas Fabio made his way to the ring. Fabio came out and a lot of the WCCW fans weren’t sure what to think of him; however, once the match started, he quickly proved that he is the real deal. Fabio and Abercrombie went toe to toe and Fabio was impressive in his debut. Abercrombie was a little upset at the ability of Fabio since he thought this was some nobody that he was going to be able to run through. Fabio got the upper hand and used the bottom rope as extra leverage and got the pin, which clearly impressed Taggart. Taggart entered the ring with several red Solo cups for everyone in the ring. Taggart told Fabio that he was clearly smarter than anyone in the audience and that he should join the Frat Boys. To everyone’s surprise, Fabio agreed that he was smarter than the fans and that Abercrombie was a great opponent, he just outsmarted him tonight. Taggart renamed him Fabibro and all three had a drink and left the ring together. WINNER – FABIBRO IRONMAN CODY MATTHEWS VS COLBY CARMICHAEL Cody Matthews has been on a roll lately; he hasn’t been winning matches, however, he has been destroying his opponents and proving to the WCCW officials that he is tired of being overlooked and this week, they sent Colby Carmichael into the lion’s den. Cody quickly started working on the arm of Carmichael and softening him up for an arm lock submission later in the match. What I thought was going to be a slaughter turned out to be a really good match and Carmichael went head to head with Matthews. At one point in the match, Colby went flying over the top rope and landed on Matthews and they both hit the concrete; I guess that is why they call him the “Dare Rebel”! Colby gave Matthews everything he had, however, Matthews continued with the submission moves and working the arm until Colby had no choice but to tap out. The ref called the match and gave the win to Matthews: however, Matthews refused to break the hold. The screams from Colby were loud enough for Scott Diamond to come from the locker room to see what was going on. Diamond yelled for Matthews to break the hold but he still refused so Diamond had no choice but to fine him $1,000. Matthews continued to attack Colby until Diamond finally had the ref reverse the decision and gave the win to Colby Carmichael by disqualification but this still didn’t stop Matthews. The only thing that stopped Matthews was Marcus Mathers coming from the back and Matthews quickly retreated to the locker room; he clearly didn’t want anything to do with Mathers. WINNER – COLBY CARMICHAEL (DISQUALIFICIATION) The next match was a blur to me thanks to The Dahlia! I try to be professional but when you have a gorgeous, half naked girl running around and flirting with everyone, it’s hard for a guy to concentrate. NATE CROSS (W/DAHLIA)(CHAMPION) VS BOB MURDOCH – USA CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH The fans didn’t just get to watch a hell of a match but they also got a singing contest before the match even began. Bob Murdoch was tired of Nate Cross saying that he was such a great singer and decided to challenge him to a sing off. Murdoch started and picked the Garth Brook’s classic – “Friends in Low Places” but he gave it a Murdoch remix which was aimed at The Dahlia. There wasn’t a clear winner of the singing contest but both were very impressive. Murdoch didn’t get to finish his last verse; it seems that Cross wasn’t very impressed and didn’t appreciate Murdoch disrespecting Ms. Hollywood, so he attacked from behind and unleashed on Murdoch. The match belonged to Cross from the start and even when things were turning around for Murdoch, he got side tracked by The Dahlia at ringside. The Dahlia came out with less clothes than usual and a lot of her assets where showing, which clearly affected Murdoch. Every time Murdoch was talking to The Dahlia, it just made Cross madder and he took it out on him with pain. Murdoch did get the upper hand with a huge spear and was about ready to get the win and the title, however, The Dahlia hopped up on the apron and Murdoch just lost it; boobs have a way of doing that to guys and Murdoch suffered the consequences. Cross caught Murdoch off guard and flipped him over for the pin. WINNER – NATE CROSS (RETAINS TITLE) After the match, Murdoch was still confused and clearly had only one thing on his mind…well, maybe two things. The next match exceeded my expectations and I’m very glad I got to witness it first hand. ALEX ANGEL VS BRANDON TAGGART (NON WCCW CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH) While Brandon Taggart seems like a good kid, he doesn’t seem in the same league as the WCCW Champion, Alex Angel. I have personally witnessed Angel go toe to toe with legends like Ron Mathis, however, Taggart stepped up to the plate and hit a home run. All of the Frat Boys came out with Taggart, including Fabibro but that didn’t seem to be as much of a distraction as I would have thought. They did attack Angel every time he was out of the ring, however, they didn’t have anything to do with how the match ended. Taggart was hitting Angel with everything he had, including a couple of huge power bombs, yet Angel continued to kick out. There was one power bomb that Angel was trying to flip around, however, Taggart caught him and dropped him hard, so hard that Angel literally bounced a few times and I know the air was totally knocked out of him and I thought the match was over, however Angel continued to kick out. It was far from one sided: Angel proved why he’s the current champion and even hit a huge cutter from the top rope, however, Abercrombie jumped in the ring to save Taggart from a pin and went for a huge spear but Angel moved and Abercrombie slammed into the metal ring post. The match had a very surprise ending; Angel was outside of the ring, standing on the apron and Taggart went to grab him but Angel flipped over the rope and Taggart and tried to flip Taggart over for the pin, however, the quick thinking Taggart just sat down right on top of Angel and grabbed the rope. The ref didn’t see Taggart using the rope for the pin and Taggart beat the current WCCW champion. The Frat Boys then jumped in the ring and attacked Angel as Taggart walked around the ring bragging that he just beat the champion and before he left ringside, he got in Angel’s face and said “respect that”. Taggart clearly proved to be one of the best in WCCW and he was quickly rewarded with a WCCW Championship match next Saturday; if he can pull off another victory, he could take the championship belt back to Ohio with him. WINNER – BRANDON TAGGART (ALEX ANGEL RETAINS CHAMPIONSHIP) Scott Diamond comes to the ring again to announce that next week is Fan Appreciation Night with tickets being only $6! On top of that, Mad Man Pondo will be there in action, along with Crazy Mary Dobson in a match against Hardcore Heather Owens. I will apologize now for the next recap because it got crazy in the WCCW arena! BLACK RAIN/THE BUTCHER VS KING HUSTLE’S COURT VS TJ LIGHTNING/PURPLE HAZE (TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS) – THREE WAY TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP STREET FIGHT This match got out of hand really quickly; they tried to do the whole tag team thing but it ended up with all 6 guys beating the hell out of each other; in and out of the ring. Legendary Larry D was in the ring with TJ Lightning which was clearly a mismatch and Larry proved just how big of a mismatch it was; he literally threw TJ from corner to corner twice and then picked TJ up for a power slam, however, Larry then decided to bench press him three times before slinging him across the ring. Black Rain and Purple Haze were in the ring when Chris Majors decided to just end the tag team crap and made the match a true street fight with a steel chair and then all hell broke loose. While everyone was fighting outside of the ring, TJ set up a chair and then choke slammed Majors almost through the mat; however, Larry didn’t like that and ended up throwing TJ across the ring and through a table that had been set up in the corner. Majors then got a hold of a steel trash can lid and hit everyone that even got close to him. He slammed it across The Butcher’s head which left a dent in the lid. The biggest moment was when Larry D decided to fly. Everyone was fighting on one side of the ring and Larry just said screw it, he climbed into the ring, ran from rope to rope and literally flew over the top rope and landed on top of everyone and all six guys crashed down onto the concrete. The entire match, King Hustle had been chasing Lexxi around the ring and near the end of the match, Lexxi got into the ring to attack Larry D but King Hustle stopped her. King Hustle started to give her another kiss but decided to elbow her right into a massive choke slam from Larry D. Lexxi didn’t move again the entire night, she just laid there. Black Rain had TJ hooked in a back slide when Purple Haze got one of the tag team belts and started to hit Rain, however, Rain quickly moved out of the way and Haze hit TJ with the championship belt and Rain capitalized on Haze’s mistake and got the pin. Black Rain and The Butcher won the tag team championhip and The Butcher picked up Lexxi and carried her to the back. Black Rain and The Butcher left ringside with their belts and the other four guys were left laying in the ring. It took quite a long time for all four of them to get up and make their way to the locker room. The match got a huge ovation from the audience; it was clearly one of the best matches in the history of WCCW. As I write this, I remember so many things but most of them are out of order due to the chaos. At one point, Larry D was thrown into a steel chair that he himself had just earlier set up in the corner and came crashing down on the concrete. The entire match was just a tornado of bodies, chairs, tables, a door, dry wall, a street sign, several kendo sticks and even the belts. WINNER – BLACK RAIN/THE BUTCHER (NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS) Next week could be just as exciting with Mad Man Pondo and Crazy Mary Dobson in the arena, there is no telling what could happen. On top of that, Purple Haze goes for the USA Championship and Brandon Taggart gets his shot at the WCCW Championship plus it’s Fan Appreciation Night!
