WCSO Partnering with Santa to a Senior and Toys for Tots Sheriff Jerry Peanuts Gaines and his staff will sponsor the Santa to a Senior and Toys for Tots programs again this year. The Toys for Tots bin is in the lobby of the WCSO along with the Christmas tree decorated with the Santa to a Senior ornaments. WCSO is partnering with the folks at Home Instead Senior Care and the U.S. Marines again this year to help with this two projects. The Santa to a Senior project consists of ornaments placed on a tree at designated locations with a seniors name and a few items they are requesting for Christmas. These items sometimes include personal hygiene items, non-perishable foods, warm clothing, etc. You can take an ornament from the tree and return the unwrapped items, with the ornament attached, to the WCSO. WCSO staff will transport the gifts to Home Instead Senior Care. The deadline to have tags and gifts returned is 12/15/14. This date gives volunteers enough time to get the gifts prepared, wrapped, and delivered before Christmas. Lets work together to help provide items needed for some of the seniors in our community this Christmas season. WCSO is also a Toys for Tots partner for the second year and we hope to help even more children in our community this year. There is a bin in our lobby for dropping off toys for the program. The toys should be less than $30.00 in value and in the original unopened container (projectile toys are discouraged i.e., dart guns, etc.). The toys can be for boys or girls. Sheriff Gaines is encouraging everyone to assist in keeping the Christmas magic alive for all the children of our community. If you don’t have the time to shop for a senior or get toys for a child, feel free to help with either of these projects financially. You can see any of the staff at the Warren County Sheriffs Office and money you designate for these programs will be spent appropriately between now and Christmas. Sheriff Gaines wants to thank each compassionate citizen during this season. ALL gifts and donations are appreciated. Please LIKE and SHARE this and other news on Twitter and Facebook.
