WE ARE BEING HERDED/ A short article by Willow/Davey We are being herded Posted by Willow Raine on October 21, 2013 at 15:00 You wake up in the morning, put on coffee, fire up your desktop PC and have a shower. This is an act being repeated by most people Monday through Friday. Theres a TV commercial out where it shows a guy going through his morning routines saying same as he completes each task. Gets pretty stagnant after awhile doing the morning over and over again! I myself do the same thing each morning except for posting my daily blog here in the forest. We are raised to believe we grow up, get a job, pay our bills, tend to our responsibilities, work 8 hours, come home and watch TV until bedtime. Its most peoples routine. And its these very routines that we pass on generation to generation in an endless circle of the same. Of course each of us has a specific life path to follow and many fall into the routine trap. Life gets... well.. boring! It doesnt have to be. Many of us just refuse to be part of the greater herd of human cattle. We strive for individuality and that in my opinion is lifes greatest challenge. To be apart from the regular hum drum of life on lifes terms. We learn that we can face each day by our terms. We can think for ourselves and choose our destiny as Spirit wills it. There are many amongst us who are doing just that. The news is full of tragedies that are being acted out all over the planet. We know whats right and whats wrong with us and with Mother Earth. We know that fossil fuels are killing us surely as we get into our cars and drive to work. We know our food is full of cancer causing chemicals and preservatives. We buy our drinking water in cases all the while knowing that Plastic is one of the most horrible inventions and that our land fills and oceans are full of it. We helplessly watch as entire species of animals and plant life are wiped of the face of the earth daily. We know why and yet do nothing about it. We just keep on living our lives as prisoners of the global economy and the dirty governments whos only real agenda is to make as much money off our need to travel, to work, to live, to dress, to taking medications. We stand by and watch our loved ones die horrible deaths from any of a dozen forms of cancer. We sit in front of our big screen HD TVs and get brainwashed by advertising and mindless sitcoms. We read about children who are dying of starvation as we gobble down Big Macs and Slurpys from 711. We throw away anything that we cant use anymore. This is the script of humanity that seriously needs some editing right? We do not need to live like this. We dont have to be part of the herd. A lot of people are starting to want more from the daily humdrum. We aim our lives in a different direction. One that takes us off the grid and speaks to us loudly promises of a better life. One thats free of routine. One that makes us true caretakers of this fragile planet. Change has never seemed so apparent before. The great cattle herder we call the internet has no scruples over filling our minds full of so much useless bullshit. Its the great block of salt that we find so appealing and everyone wants a lick. Its called routine! So what Im trying to say is that we dont need to subscribe to the daily madness that surely will put us in the psych ward. We have a choice. Whether or not we make the right choices should be dictated by our hearts and inner voices. Nobody can force us to do anything we dont want or desire. We forge ever forward to be who we are meant to be. We face lifes battles with hearts of love and wills of faith. We can be the one dandelion in the great field of flowers. We demand change and if being that ugly duckling is whats required well then So be it! We are unique in a world thats all the same. Go against the flow. Refuse to drive. Take a bus and let the government know how bad plastic and pollution really is. They know but not enough people take a stand and demand change. And change my friends begins with each of us.
