WE ARE RETURNING HOME! Today is the Ninth of Av in the Jewish calendar, the day that both Temples were destroyed, thousands of years ago. The Romans who destroyed the Second Temple wanted to erase all Jewish presence in the Land of Israel, by expelling us and selling us as slaves to the 4 corners of the earth. They even changing the name of the region from Judea to Palestina to try to erase our connection to our land. Well, they failed! This picture of Yonatan, one of 7 Chinese Jews from Kaifeng whom we brought to Israel, finally receiving his Teudat Zehut (Israeli identity card), is proof that we are returning home! From the four corners of the earth we are returning to our people, to our religion and to our homeland! While we still mourn the destruction of the Temples, we celebrate the return of our people from the four corners of the earth to our Holy land. Mazal Tov Yonatan!
