Méav Story Part 4 Celtic Woman did their first public concert in Ireland at The Point on February 17, 2006. A few hours after the end of that show, CW boarded a flight to Japan. Méav was well known in Japan and was a welcome addition to that limited promotional tour. Méav appeared as part of the Celtic Woman U.S. tour in the spring of 2006. She performed on the Regis and Kelly show in New York on March 17th. Méav has proven she is a real trouper by appearing a number of times in promotional performances in New York, that for some reason, often included at least one performance outside in March in a gown with bare shoulders. Pictures from those times show a big smile firmly in place and of course the singing is great. Méav recorded with Celtic Woman in the making of their CD, A Christmas Celebration. Celtic Woman’s second album, which was certified Gold by the RIAA in December 2009 for sales of 1,000,000. In this concert they were joined by the world famous Irish Film Orchestra, the Celtic Woman band and choir. The track list includes the following tracks and performers: O Holy Night (All), Away in a Manger (Orla), Ding Dong Merrily on High (All), White Christmas Christmas Pipes (All), Christmas Song (Lisa),Carol of the Bells (Mairead), Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (All), Panis Angelicus (Chloe), Don Oíche Úd I mBeithil (Méav and Chloe), O Come, All Ye Faithful (All), Little Drummer Boy (Chloe and Orla), Wexford Carol (Méav), Let it Snow! (All) The album of this concert was released October 3rd 2006. Later in the year, Méav also performed at Slane Castle for the video recording of Celtic Woman - A New Journey. This was a two day filming event August 24th and 25th of 2006. She sang Dulamon and Danny Boy for her solo performances, and Last Rose of Summer as a duet with Hayley. Meav also sang in 12 more ensemble numbers. This particular concert was somewhat unique in that multiple CDs and DVDs were released each with different tracks included as bonuses. It was the second on-stage production by Celtic Woman. The show was filmed in County Meath, Ireland with the addition of Hayley Westenra as a fifth vocalist. Slane Castle has hosted many concerts of notable acts such as Madonna, Rolling Stones, and Bruce Springsteen to name a few. Released on January 30, 2007, the album broke a long-standing record when it surpassed the 68 week run of the first album. The album opened at #4 on the U.S. Billboard 200 selling 71,000 copies in its first week. On March 29, 2007, the album was certified gold by the RIAA. In the Spring US Tour, Méav alternated with Hayley Westenra during the four-month-long tour of the States. In 2006, a collection of Meavs solo and choral work with Anúna, Celtic Dreams, was released on Valley Entertainment Records. In August 2007, much to the upset of her fans, Meav took a full time break from touring with Celtic Woman to focus on her own solo career.
