Khawer Klein, founder of German Medical Help, has one goal, since his children told him about the earthquake on the phone: To help the people as soon as possible! This is our goal followed by each of our commitments till now. With the collaboration of Organisations like Imran Khan Foundation Pakistan,Spectrum NGO Islamabad, action Medeor, the green helmets or the Dr. Ruth Pfau Trust we built houses or donated medicine. We regularly arrange medical commitment with our team at the PIMS Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad and at the AMU University in Aligarh, Utar –Pradesh in India. Khawer Klein was born in Pakistan and was adopted by a German couple. Now he wants to give something back to the community. One year ago German Medical Help got a great donation form a hospital in Grevenbroich, consisting of 20 beds, cots, mattresses and many more. From our own private money we bought more goods like electric wheelchairs These donations were intended to go to different hospitals in Pakistan and should help the doctors and nurses to administer the patients. Over one year we collected, made calls and organized. In May 2013 eventually we were able to send the container to Karachi. Our anticipation was great! But unfortunately we could not get our container from the customs because there had been a change in the local system. Because of this change they were not able to assign the goods to the hospitals. Despite the constant affords made by Mr. Klein from Germany and the transport and Mr. Khan in Pakistan, we were forced to leave the container at the harbor. Costs of over 7000 Dollar raised. Last week we got the container from the customs but the costs still remain. So we have a great plea! Our trust is only financed by donations or private money, so our budged for our work is not that big. If we have to pay the full amount, we would have to postpone important commitments or cancel them. This means we are not able to help many people. Please help us and exempt us from the payment or maybe allow us to pay a part of the amount. You would support our work and help the people in Pakistan! We hope for your helpfulness and thank you!
