WE NEED HELP WITH CHARLIE!! This is Charlie. He was found around Preyer Road in Greensboro on August 7th. The Good Samaritan who saw him hobbling by the road noticed that his right rear leg was dragging and he could not put any weight on it. The day he arrived at SPCA he was taken to Sheets Pet Clinic and evaluated with an x-ray. This showed a snapped femur. There were no other cuts or abrasions which led the doctors at Sheets think Charlie was not hit by a car. This could mean that he was kicked or dropped and he is only about 10-12 weeks old! It didnt matter to Charlie - he cant stop wagging his tail at his good fortune to be brought to the SPCA. Throughout everything he has just wagged that tail and will lick anyones face who came close enough! The surgery to insert a pin in his femur was done on August 8th - very successfully! The break was recent, was clean, and being a young dog, Charlie will heal quickly. The staff said that he came out of anesthesia with that tail wagging! HIs vet bills were expensive and we already have several special needs animals, so any and all help is needed and appreciated. In the meantime, lets hope this poor little forgiving fellow never suffers from human neglect or abuse again!!!
