::: WE STILL HAVE A CHANCE ::: Yesterday, I had a walk round the large and beautiful University of Benin Teaching Hospital(UBTH). Sometimes, I wish I were the owner of such a haven where medicine is practised. But Ill just have to wait. Walking round, I came across the mortuary. I didnt go inside because I have no business there, but I know that as difficult as this may sound, Ill be an unconscious customer in a mortuary someday. I stood still like the coconut tree in my fathers house, and fixed my gaze at the mortuary like a mad man looking at a naked woman. I was imagining dead bodies lying lifeless in the mortuary, unaware of what was happening around them. Unaware that Sanusi had been suspended. Unaware that somebody gossiped them. Unaware that theyve not bought the latest clothes. Unaware that they are hungry. Unaware of everything! They once had a chance at life. They once had a life. They once had a chance to love and be loved. They once had a chance to live a life of purpose. They once had a chance to dream and achieve, but now lifeless! We will all live long God-willing, but a day would come, and we will be dead. Forgive me if I sound crude but we can never hide from the truth. But before that ever happens, we still have the chance to live a great life. We still have the chance to love and be loved. We still have a chance to care for others. We still have a chance to impact and be a blessing to others. We still have a chance to dream and achieve. We still have a chance to fulfill purpose. We still have a chance to surrender all to Christ We still have a chance to live for him We should make good use of this CHANCE cos it will be no more someday. God bless you! - Faith E.
