The slip our staff print and give you immediately after you enroll is called the NIN slip, it contains your unique National Identification Number (NIN), no two people have the same NIN, Your NIN is your NIN for life, other information like marital status, address etc can be changed or updated but your NIN is permanent. You are advised to keep your NIN slip safe, you can also copy and save your number elsewhere because the number will not appear physically on the body of your eID Card when we issue it to you. Your NIN can only be verified when your card is inserted into a chip reading machine like an ATM or a POS device for a transaction or for verification of your identity. We are aware that some banks have turned down the NIN slip when presented by customers as means of identification, they claim that some people present fake copies of the slip, NIMC wants to assure everyone that this challenge will end as soon as we formally launch the eID Card and commence issuance to those who have enrolled. We have already commenced printing of the cards and have even issued some quantity (mainly to NIMC staff). FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT ENROLLED, ANY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS IS ACCEPTABLE AS REQUIREMENT FOR ENROLLMENT AT OUR ENROLLMENT CENTERS. 1. Birth Certificate 2. Driving License 3. International Passport 4. Voters ID 5. Government Photo ID Card 6. Educational Certificate 7. Photo ID Card issued by a recognized Educational Institution 8. Pensioner Photo Card 9. Insurance Policy 10. Photo ( Credit Card) 11. Bank Statement with Passport Photo 12. Post Office Account Statement Passbook 13. Electricity Bill (not older than 3 month) 14. Water Bill (not older than 3 month) 15. Telephone Landline Bill (not older than 3 month) 16. Property Tax Receipt (not older than 3 month) 17. Letter of Introduction issued by public Lottery 18. Letter of Introduction issued by Justice of Peace 19. Letter of Introduction issued by a Govt. Official not below the rank of a director 20. Authority (for rural areas) 21.
