WEATHER BULLETIN NUMBER EIGHT TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING: TROPICAL DEPRESSION #QueeniePH ISSUED AT 11:00 PM, 27 NOVEMBER 2014 QUEENIE HAS MAINTAINED ITS STRENGTH AS IT CONTINUES TO MOVE CLOSER TO NORTHERN PALAWAN. Location of eye/center: At 10:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression “QUEENIE” was estimated based on all available at 160km Northeast of Puerto Princesa City (10.6°N, 120.0°E). Strength: Maximum winds of 55 kph near the center. Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 24 kph. Forecast Positions: QUEENIE is now moving closer to northern Palawan. By tomorrow evening, it is expected to be at 400 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, and will exit the western border of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in between 7 to 8 PM. By Saturday evening, it is expected to be at 1,070 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City. PSWS No. 1 (Winds of 30-60 kph is expected in at least 36 hours): Palawan including the Calamian Group of Islands, Cuyo Islands, Guimaras Island, Iloilo and Antique. • Public Storm Warning Signal (PSWS) elsewhere are now lowered. • Estimated rainfall amount is from 7-15 mm per hour (moderate-heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression. • Residents in low lying and mountainous areas of the provinces with PSWS#1 as well as those in the provinces of Romblon and Mindoro are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. • Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the seaboards of Palawan and over the western seaboard of Visayas. • The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 AM tomorrow.
