WEATHER BULLETIN NUMBER SEVEN Tropical Cyclone Alert: Tropical Storm #QuedanPH (FITOW) Issued at 11:00 AM, 02 October 2013 (Valid for broadcast until the next bulletin to be issued at 11 PM today) TROPICAL STORM “QUEDAN” HAS INTENSIFIED AS IT CONTINUES TO MOVE OVER THE PHILIPPINE SEA. Location of eye/center: At 10:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm “QUEDAN” was estimated based on all available data at 790 km East of Tuguegarao City (17.9°N, 130.2°E). Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph. Movement: Forecast to move North at 17 kph. Forecast Positions: Tropical Storm “QUEDAN” is expected to be at 720 km East of Itbayat, Batanes by tomorrow morning and at 740 km Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes or at 720 km East of Taiwan by Friday morning. By Saturday morning, it is expected to be outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 770 km Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes or at 580 km East of Northern Taiwan. • Estimated rainfall amount is from 7.5 – 15 mm per hour (heavy - intense) within the 500 km diameter of the Tropical Storm. • Tropical Storm “QUEDAN” is expected not to affect any part of the country. • The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 PM today.
