WEATHER BULLETIN No. 04 Tropical Cyclone Warning: Tropical Storm "LABUYO" Issued at 11:00AM 10 August 2013 (Valid for broadcast until the next bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today) Tropical Storm “LABUYO” has intensified as it continues to move west northwest in the general direction of Northern Luzon. Location of eye/center: At 10:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm “LABUYO” was estimated based on all available data at 570 km East of Virac, Catanduanes (13.8°N, 130.1°E). Strength: Maximum winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of 100 kph. Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 19 kph. Forecast Positions: Tropical Storm “LABUYO” is expected to be at 240 km Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes by tomorrow morning. By Monday morning, it will be in the vicinity of Cauayan City, Isabela and at 240 km Northwest of Sinait, Ilocos Norte by Tuesday morning or in the Northwest boundary of PAR. Public Storm Warning Signal # 1 (Winds of 45-60 kph is expected within the next 36 hours): Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quirino and Catanduanes. • Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 – 16 mm per hour (moderate - intense) within the 400 km diameter of the Tropical Storm. • The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today.
