WEATHER BULLETIN No. 4 Tropical Cyclone Alert: Tropical Depression “EmongPH” Issued at 11:00 pm, 17 June 2013 (Valid for broadcast until the next bulletin to be issued at 11 AM tomorrow) TROPICAL DEPRESSION “EMONG” has maintained its strength while it moves in a north northwest direction. Location of eye/center: At 10:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression “EMONG” was estimated based on all available data at 340 km East of Daet, Camarines Norte (14.7°N, 126.4°E). Strength: Maximum winds of 55 kph near the center. Movement: Forecast to move North Northwest at 9 kph. Forecast Positions: Tropical Depression “EMONG” is expected to be at 320 km East of Casiguran, Aurora by tomorrow evening. By Wednesday evening, it will be at 250 km Southeast of Basco, Batanes and at 360 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes by Thursday evening. * Estimated rainfall within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression is from 5 – 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy). * Tropical Depression “EMONG” is still far to directly affect any part of the country. However, it will enhance the Southwest Monsoon which will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. * TD “Emong” is likely to intensify within the next 24 hours. * The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 am tomorrow.
