WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE UK. from the MET OFFICE Headline: Dry, warm and sunny for many through Thursday. Today: Rain and hill fog across western areas at first, heavy in the north. The rainband pushing southeastwards and weakening, giving afternoon sunny spells and only isolated showers across central and eastern parts. Further rain across Western Scotland. Warm but breezy. Tonight: Staying breezy across Scotland with rain continuing in the west. Drier elsewhere with largely clear skies and light winds, but this could lead to fog patches in places. Friday: Rain across Western Scotland should ease through the afternoon with winds also becoming lighter. Elsewhere, dry and mainly sunny with light winds. Very warm in many areas. Outlook for Saturday to Monday: A good deal of fine, dry and increasingly warm weather is likely throughout the period. However northwestern parts may be cloudy at times with outbreaks of light rain or drizzle. UK Outlook for Monday 8 Jul 2013 to Wednesday 17 Jul 2013: Conditions look likely to be fine, dry and settled across the UK throughout much of this period, with some long sunny spells by day. It may often be cloudier across some northwestern parts of the UK with a risk of some rain, particularly later next week. There is also a low risk of an isolated afternoon heavy shower developing over hills through next week and perhaps some cloudier conditions for southeastern areas of England mid-week. Away from the far northwest, it will be warm or very warm, and locally hot over inland central and southern areas. Towards the end of the period, it may turn more unsettled across northern areas, with occasional rain or showers. Fine, mostly dry and warm weather is expected to continue across many southern parts though. UK Outlook for Thursday 18 Jul 2013 to Thursday 1 Aug 2013: Early indications are that the dry and settled weather from the first half of the month could continue across many parts of the UK, especially the south. This implies below average rainfall and mainly above-average temperatures and above-average sunshine amounts. However, confidence decreases with time through this forecast period.
