WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE UK. from the MET OFFICE Headline: Sunny for most. Cloudier in eastern England and the northwest. Today: A dry, sunny and warm day for most. Cloudier at times across some eastern parts, especially near the eastern coast of England. Coastal low cloud and mist or fog patches likely in the north and northwest. Tonight: Another fine and dry night with clear skies for many. The cloud over eastern coasts of England will edge inland. It should remain cloudier, rain possible, in the far northwest. Friday: Most areas fine and dry with plenty of very warm sunshine. Parts of the southeast may hold on to the cloud, whilst some heavy showers could develop over northern areas. Outlook for Saturday to Monday: Generally very warm in the south and east with sunny spells and some isolated thundery showers possible, mostly over the weekend. Cooler and cloudier further northwest, with rain at times. UK Outlook for Monday 15 Jul 2013 to Wednesday 24 Jul 2013: To start the new week, many areas should be fine and dry at first, but cloud and outbreaks of rain near northwest Scotland will gradually move southeastwards, reaching Northern England and Wales later on Monday and into Tuesday. Temperatures around average in the north, but remaining above average in the south. Through the rest of the period it may be changeable for most, with the most unsettled conditions in the north. So rain or showers interspersed with drier, brighter periods, with the rain most likely in the north, and occasionally windy here. Meanwhile the south should see more in the way of drier, brighter and warmer weather. Temperatures near or cooler than average in the northwest, and generally above average elsewhere, perhaps occasionally very warm still in the south. UK Outlook for Thursday 25 Jul 2013 to Thursday 8 Aug 2013: The balance of probability suggests conditions in late July being fairly similar to those of mid-July. As such southern regions are most likely to see periods of dry and settled weather with above average sunshine and temperatures and below average rainfall. Northern regions, meanwhile, remain most likely to be affected by bouts of changeable, unsettled weather. There are then some signs of some of these more changeable conditions spreading further south during early August.
