COMMENTARY: The crazies at Moms Demand Action, one of Bloomberg’s many anti-gun groups, are trying to force the massive chain Kroger to ban guns in all 2500 of their stores. The group says they are targeting this specific grocery store because they say there have been 12 shootings on Kroger’s property over the past 4 years. Kroger basically told them to shove it. As far as I’m concerned, this is the best answer Kroger can give in a situation like this. Bear in mind that Kroger has 2500 stores nationwide and most, if not all, are in shopping centers. Does a shooting in a shopping center parking lot mean there was a shooting at a Kroger’s? Definitely not. And how many of these shootings were perpetrated by an otherwise law abiding citizen open or concealed carrying? My guess is none. MDA founder Shannon Watts isn’t all that concerned about facts, she just wants to pretend like she’s making the world safer by banning good guys with guns from all public spaces. She sent a letter to Kroger CEO Michael Ellis demanding that he immediately ban all guns from every single location, saying in part: “Millions of customers are present in our busy grocery stores every day and we don’t want to put our associates in a position of having to confront a customer who is legally carrying a gun. We know that our customers are passionate on both sides of this issue and we trust them to be responsible in our stores,” Well said Kroger. People with concealed carry permits are probably some of the most responsible people in this country.
