WEATHER UPDATE Severe Weather Bulletin No. 5 Tropical Storm HENRY (MATMO) Issued at 11:00 p.m., Saturday, 19 July 2014 Typhoon Henry has slowed down slightly as it continues to move in a northwest direction. Location of Center:as of 10:00 p.m.is 470 km East of Guiuan, Eastern Samar with Maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph Movement: Forecast to move Northwest at 15 kph. Forecast Positions/Outlook: Sunday evening: 370 km East of Virac, Catanduanes Monday evening: 260 km East of Casiguran, Aurora Tuesday evening: 60 km Northwest of Basco, Batanes. No Public Storm Warning Signal Estimated rainfall amount is from 7.5 – 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 500 km diameter of the Typhoon. HENRY is expected to bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Dinagat and Siargao Island and over the province of Surigao del Norte. Residents in these areas are advised to be alert against possible flashfloods and landslides. Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the eastern seaboard of Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao. The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 AM tomorrow.
