WEB PAGE UPDATED>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 12/9/14 : Today we took the R1 class cars to Languna Seca to put the fastest cars in the Sportsmans series to the test. Qualifying would consist of 7 drivers who were mostly ready having made laps in practice earlier in the day. RiskTaker would secure the pole with SmokeyMacPot starting 2nd. This timed event of 1.5 hours got underway and InkAddict and RiskTaker started battling right away making way for SmokeyMacPot to take the lead. Mash Redneck would also run strong and be in the mix as well. Flip and ChuckWagonGravy would race each other most of the night towards the back. PRDragon would suffer engine failure early and pull behind the wall. Cautions were thrown at the usual time intervals giving fans a great show as the fast R1 cars josseled for position. Once bunched up it was all about who would not make a mistake and who could get away cleanly. SmokeyMacPot had very little trouble with that all night as drivers would just have to watch him drive away. RiskTaker gets the move of the race passing Mash Redneck in the tight downhill S turns, a move few dare to make. He would race hard all night trying to get around InkAddict who ran 2nd for a great deal of laps. Before the race would conclude Flip would also suffer a mechanical failure and have to retire his car. As the time ran out it was SmokeyMacPot who lead every lap but the one RiskTaker was able to lead at the beginning, took home the checkered flag in one of the most dominating performances of the season so far. We here congratulate SmokeyMacPot for his win and look forward to next weeks race at Road America in the STOCK cars.
