We connect women-owned businesses to market opportunities from multinational corporations. Our mission is to ensure that majority-women-owned businesses (51%+) are given fair and equal access to corporate and public sector procurement opportunities locally, nationally and internationally and to educate corporations and government agencies throughout the world on the credible and measurable benefits that women-owned business bring, including innovation and brand value. We work with multinationals and government departments who recognize the benefits of widening access to their supply chains and women-owned businesses who want to connect with corporations and demonstrate their commercial and brand value to those companies. WEConnect International, therefore, is not a social program targeting specific groups and is not intended to create an unfair advantage for women, nor does it guarantee business for certified firms from participating corporations. It is about levelling the playing field so that all potential suppliers can participate in and benefit from corporate spending. It is about market access opportunity for WEConnect certified businesses, enabling them to have a fair opportunity to tender for contracts, after which, it is business as usual - womens firms must go through the standard corporate or government tendering process, and be assessed on their merits with no regard to gender.
