WEDNESDAY 13th NOVEMBER, 2013 DON’T BE LUKEWARM Revelation 3:15-16 Lukewarmness is a terrible thing that is eating deep into the church today. Christians have become so lazy in the church; they only stop at what the preacher says. They do not even desire to study the word of God to gain more knowledge, understanding, and wisdom in the word of God. James 1:19 says “but be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” All the word of God we have been hearing from our pastors, men of God, CDS, DVD’S and through the media should impact our lives. In doing the work of God, we move forward in life and our needs are met. We cannot remain in one phase of life. From where we have read in Revelation3:15-16 it says that lukewarmness is when you are neither cold nor hot. You are neither here nor there. You may be about experiencing God then you just stop at a particular place, because you do not want to work hard. You become so lazy, proverbs 12:24 says ”the diligent will rule, but the lazy man will be put to force labour”. Laziness brings you to poverty. When you are lazy you cannot even do anything for yourself. When you are lukewarm; neither cold nor hot the Lord says He will vomit or spit you out of His mouth. For how long will you continue with this unstable way of life? You can be going to church everyday for all the activities and join every group in the church but have no intimate relationship with God and not being sound in the spirit because the fire of the Holy Spirit, you are lukewarm. It is better to be hot in Christ Jesus. Ask for the power of the Holy Spirit, He will make you a fire brand believer and your life will not remain the same in Jesus name.
