WEDNESDAY 22ND OCTOBER, 2O14. TOPIC: Live With Others In Mind. SCRIPTURE: Dont be selfish; dont live to make a good impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself. Dont just think about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and in what they are doing. Phil. 2:3-4 (The Living Bible). THOUGHT: If you cannot point to anybody that you are raising, then it is possible that your life is wasting. People of character are people that are filled with love. The dimensions of this love are: Living with others in mind. A person of character moves about with the consciousness of how his action impacts on others, and the consequences of his behaviour on the lives of others. Being a people investor. A person of character brings out the best in people. He is a people-raiser. The person who lives for himself lives in a very tiny world. And if you cannot point to anybody that you are raising, then it is possible that your life is wasting. They are not given to a lifestyle of envy and jealousy. A person of character never dwells in the realm of bitterness and ‘unforgiveness’. They are people-celebrators. Show me a man who has character and I will show you a man who celebrates people (Phil. 2:3-4). The process of celebrating people is the process of developing genuine interest in the lives of others. There are people who despise humanity. They have reached a realm where they don’t value people anymore. Some people will talk to their drivers as if they are talking to dogs. That is characterlessness. Real character is sensitive to human needs, interested in people and attentive to other people’s welfare. Remember this: if you cannot point to anybody that you are raising, then it is possible that your life is wasting. ASSIGNMENT (S): In everything you do, consider the impact it might have on others. Be interested in others and help raise somebody.
