WEDNESDAY: Heres a look at the world weather synopsis for today... ASIA: Unstable weather continues to provide cloud cover and scattered showers and storms across northern and central Japan. This setup may continue into Thursday and possibly Friday. Meanwhile, high pressure is providing plenty of sunny weather for the Korean Peninsula and northeastern China. Heavy rain continues with the monsoonal setup for southern China, and the Phillipines are also quite wet. It will remain wet for the duration of the week. OCEANIA: Mainly clear skies will continue for Australia this week, though there is also a chance for showers and storms for the southeastern corner of the country as a cold front finally clears the area. Meanwhile, clouds are in place for New Zealand, keeping already cool temperatures low for Thursday, and highs will be near freezing for a few days. EUROPE: Low pressure in the Scandinavian Peninsula continues to provide colder air for the northern portions of Europe and instability for the central and eastern portions of the continent. This is a slow moving system, so flooding is of concern. Some severe weather was reported Tuesday in Spain, Italy, and Austria, and those areas will likely see another opportunity for rain and storms coming up on Wednesday. Above average temperatures continue for the eastern side of Europe. NORTH AMERICA: Colder air coming in from Canada is creating a strong cold frontal boundary in the Ohio River Valley. Expect possible severe thunderstorms for Wednesday, particularly heavy rainfall. Flash Flood watches are also posted in Wisconsin, the Chicagoland area, and as far south as Missouri. The cold air will continue to push south and east, so expect a 5-10 degree (C) drop Wednesday and Thursday. Snowfall concerns continue in western Canada. Hope you have a good day wherever you are!
