WEDNESDAY September 11, 2013 Patriot Day: Trust God O Lord my God, in You I put my trust; Save me from all those who persecute me; And deliver me, Lest they tear me like a lion, Rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver. Psalm 7:1-2 As we take the time to reflect back on this day in history, we now have two days to remember: September 11, 2001 and September 11, 2012. Both of these days should live on in our memories, as we take the time to pray for the many families who lost people they loved on these two days. While more lives were lost in 2001, it does not diminish the tremendous loss last year, 2012, when our United States Consulate was attacked in Benghazi, Libya. The attack was against the American people and we all mourn for the families left behind. I think it is important to learn the lesson David learned, when he faced many adversaries. When faced with enemies and it seems you have nowhere to turn, we have to look up. We have one Advocate and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. Man will fail us. They will turn against us, but God is faithful. He said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). In times of great trials and tribulations, we can put our trust in the Lord. He will bring comfort in the midst of pain and confusion. Remember, for the many who will grieve today over their great loss, the only thing of worth we have to give to them is Jesus. Only He can give them peace and comfort. When we lack the peace of God, we should turn to our peace with God. ~Robert M.
