WEEK 9: THEME: UNLESS A MAN IS BORN AGAIN... on behalf of Thursday Group: Based on the lead Scripture, John 3. We learn that a man must be born of Water and Spirit to be able to enter the Kingdom of God! We all know that Water is basically for cleansing, besides other uses. In view of the Salvation that was brought to humanity through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Water plays a pivotal role during baptism (by full immersion) even as Christ himself demonstrated. This is the symbolic WASHING away of Adamic Sin, dying as far as Sin is concerned and resurrecting as a new creation (when you come out of the baptismal water mass). It is therefore crucial and inevitable to undergo this holy process, taking full caution to observe that both the baptist and the one being baptised have understood the power and divinity of the process, lest we bring a curse or death upon ourselves by doing or partaking Water baptism in an unholy manner! Both the servant of God baptising and the believer undergoing the baptism MUST observe thorough Repentance and Sanctification before engaging in the process, that when the heavens see, the LORD may release the Holy Spirit to stamp the mark of God and sonship to God upon the believer, just as it was when Jesus was undergoing the same process in Matthew 3:13-17. We can only become sons of God after being baptised in Water and filled by the Holy Spirit. Then the Spirit will take over to teach, guide and control our lives until we are ushered into the Kingdom of God as is written in John 16:5-16.
