WEEK AHEAD FORECAST: Good evening, In this weeks forecast I think I have something for everyones taste in weather from wind to rain, showers to even a risk of sleet and snowy conditions towards the end of this week coming. So whats happening and when. Here is your detailed forecast taking us up to Friday. Monday: Any early morning rain will clear SE and allow a ridge of High Pressure to push in over us. This will dry things out for Monday and help temperatures peak at around 10 degrees. Winds around 12mph starting off from a Westerly switching more to a Northwesterly by late afternoon. This means temperatures will start to fall and by the end of the evening, we will be looking at around 5 degrees. Tuesday: Cloud would have pushed down from the Northwest overnight giving a chilly and cloudy start to Tuesday. Cloud will continue to thicken throughout the day and into the evening and we will start to see rain push in from the Northwest later on in the evening. Winds starting off from a Northwest switching Westerly then Southwesterly by evening introducing milder air once more with temperatures ending Tuesday around 6 to 9 degrees. Winds will also increase as the day continues and overnight into Wednesday will become gusty at around 15 to 20mph hence the milder air. Wednesday: Its looking as if the rain will still be with us on Wednesday morning but slowly pushing East Southeast so by the afternoon we should start to see cloud break and sunny spells to develop in between showers. Winds will start to switch again from a Southwesterly to a Westerly then Northwesterly picking up during the day. We could see gusts between 20 to 30mph so starting to feel a lot colder once more. Temperatures starting off at around 10 degrees dropping to around 4 degrees rural and 7 degrees towns and cities by the evening. This is when we start to see the switch from milder to much colder weather taking us right through into February. Thursday: The detail is a little up in the air at present but it is looking very likely we will see an area of low pressure push out to the east allowing much colder air to be drawn down from the north. Currently we are looking at rain or showers to affect us during Thursday and temperatures to hold at around 4 degrees as strong Northwest winds really start to dig in giving it a feel factor of 0 to -2 degrees. Overnight Thursday into Friday we could see gusts between 30 to 40mph. ❄️❄️This will allow showers to turn increasingly wintery potentially even to lower levels.❄️❄️ EARLY WARNING FOR ICE: Overnight Thursday into Friday. Friday: Due to temperatures dropping below freezing as we move into Friday, ice is a real concern across the Southwest due to the showers continuing overnight. Care is needed Friday morning for the potential for any ice hazards. We will also have the return of frosts to deal with. Top temperature Friday morning 3 degrees adding on the winds it will feel like -4. During the day temperatures will rise up to 5 degrees but feeling more like 1 to -2 degrees so feeling very cold. Any showers throughout Friday will generally fall as rain as lower levels but sleet or snow for highest peaks. Keep up to date with the page as we move into the early part of next week as I will keep you up to date on developments. Next your local 3 day forecasts will start to be released throughout Sunday. Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Dean Lanick Founder of SWSC.
