WEEK FOUR - BE RICH SERIES - WRAP UP - Well, we concluded our four week series on generosity this week. We ended things by going back to where we started. Here are the three points from this Sunday if you missed it. ONE - Rich is a moving target that changes with time that no one ever admits to hitting. No one ever feels rich but the truth is... we are rich. We also discussed the differences between 1st world vs. 3rd world problems. TWO - We looked at how Jesus always seemed to connect money to eternity. It was in this teaching that He challenges us to remember that this present world is only temporary. THREE - We asked the question, What if everything put into our hands was not put there for OUR consumption? What if some of it was put there with an expectation that we bless others? This is where circled back to week one. The most powerful evangelistic tool of the early church was... generosity. Nothing is more effective at making people receptive to the Gospel than generosity. The early church knew this. Perhaps it is time for us to relearn this truth. As we seek to CONNECT people to the power of the Gospel, perhaps the best place to start is by being generous.
