Thursday, August 15, 2013 · Kasich announced his plan to enact a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution and called on states to lead the effort. The governor also called for the Ohio General Assembly to help jump start the process by passing a resolution calling for a constitutional convention that would approve a balanced budget amendment. Friday, August 16, 2013 · Kasich announced the appointment of Michael R. Goulding of Toledo (Lucas Co.) to serve as a judge on the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas. Goulding will assume office on August 26, 2013, and must run in November 2014 to retain the seat for the unexpired term ending January 1, 2017 · Kasich announced appointments to the State Racing Commission, the Ohio Historical Society Board of Trustees, the Motor Vehicle Salvage Dealer’s Board, and the State Dental Board.
