Kasich spoke with participants in the American Legion Buckeye Boys State program at Bowling Green State University (Wood Co.). The program is an eight-day hands-on experience in the operation of Ohio government. Kasich delivered the keynote remarks at the meeting of the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 Kasich attended the Governor’s Executive Workforce Board meeting where he signed Executive Order 2013-05K, streamlining the process by which veterans and active service members can use military experience and training toward degrees, certificates, and professional licenses. Kasich announced the appointments of Kenneth E. Flieri of Milford (Clermont Co.) to the Banking Commission and Dr. Maninder S. Kalra of Mason (Warren Co.) to the Ohio Respiratory Care Board. Wednesday, June 12, 2013 Kasich delivered remarks at Mt. Sinai Health Care Foundation’s annual meeting in Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.) and was recognized with the Foundation’s Heart of Ohio Award for his efforts to extend Medicaid coverage to working, low-income Ohioans. Kasich announced the appointment of Christopher J. Regan of Jackson (Jackson Co.) to serve as a judge on the Jackson County Common Pleas Court, General and Domestic Relations Divisions. Regan will assume office on July 1, 2013, and must run in November 2014 to retain the seat for the remainder of the unexpired term, which ends December 31, 2016. Thursday, June 13, 2013 Kasich joined Honda to celebrate the resurfacing of the Transportation Research Center’s high-speed test track, allowing auto manufacturers to continue to use this valuable asset for research and development. Kasich announced the appointment of J. Curtis Werren of Canton (Stark Co.) to serve as a judge on the Stark County Court of Common Pleas, General Division. Werren will assume office on July 8, 2013, and must run in November 2014 to retain the seat for the remainder of the unexpired term, which ends January 1, 2017. Friday, June 14, 2013 Kasich announced the appointment of Sheriff M. Jamie Patton of Richwood (Union Co.) to the County Sheriffs’ Standard Car-Marking and Uniform Commission and the reappointment of Mayor Jerry N. Hruby of Brecksville (Cuyahoga Co.) to the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission.
