WEEKEND CRIME UPDATE: 1. A house was burgled on Edgeware Road on Saturday between 21:20 and 22:00. The offenders gained access by climbing onto the concervatory roof and entering an insecure upper bedroom window. The offenders stole thousands of pounds worth of Asian jewelry and thousands of pounds from a safe which was removed from the property. 2. A bogus Police officer attempted to gain entry into a woman’s house on Saturday at 22:41 on Whitstable Close. The victim had arrived home and was removing something from her car boot when a male approached her wearing a black hooded top, high visibility vest, black pants and boots. The male stated he was a police officer and began asking her questions such as her name and her address and asked that he speaks to her in private in her house. When the victim asked to see his warrant card the offender fled the scene. 3. Also, 7 arrests were made over the weekend in Chadderton; most of them were wanted by Greater Manchester Police.
