WEEKEND UPDATE: WET SATURDAY, WARM & DAMP SUNDAY The storm system - TopicsExpress

WEEKEND UPDATE: WET SATURDAY, WARM & DAMP SUNDAY The storm system that will make a mess of our weekend is pushing in faster than anticipated. That means rain will roll in starting mid to late morning for Philadelphia and areas to the south and east. But, with temps right around freezing in the northwest suburbs, we will look for a 2 to 4 hour period of sleet and freezing rain before a change to all rain. Im not expecting much in the way of problems on the roads in these areas, but there could be a few slick spots especially in the farthest north locations on places like overpasses and well into the Poconos. In general though this is a 90% rain event for the area. Rain occurs off and on through the night on Saturday and all through the day on Sunday. It won’t be a complete washout where it is raining all the time, but it will be damp & cloudy throughout. Temps really start to rise on Saturday night and into Sunday when we top out in the low to mid 60s: near record warmth! Dont get used to temperatures in the 60s, MUCH colder air arrives next week along with the chance of some snow showers Tuesday night.
