WEEKLY NEWSLETTER Dear All, Halleluiah, the silly season is over and it’s back to a bit of normality! A very happy new year to you all, I hope you have a great one. Coming up this week we have the usual nine hole competition beginning on Saturday, either nine any time. Saturday is also a medley stableford and the 6th round of the Summer Cup, Sunday is a medley par and Wednesday is also a medley par. It will be cool on Saturday but from lots of reports a little wet! Hopefully not as wet as it was a few years ago! Yesterday the hot weather had an effect on the numbers playing but 25 souls braved the heat and Ganon Bettess with 38 points won from the retired and inform Rita Chase who had 35. The introduction of One Golf for tee bookings has been fantastic and is used by most members but if you book your time and then for some reason can’t make it please take your name out, it saves others waiting around for someone who is not coming. Australia day is fast approaching, a number of groups have already put their names up on the board so it’s time you got organised for the H & R Block ambrose in 4’s. It has a 9.30 shot gun start, breakfast and lunch are included in the cost, drinks carts will be operating and as usual it will be a great day. We thank Neil Wilkie and H & R Block for their continued sponsorship of this event. Let’s make it a big one. The raffle books for the motorised buggy are coming in steadily, if you still have a book please bring it back ASAP so we can get ready for the draw on Australia day. If you are having trouble selling your book just return it as there seems to be plenty of buyers for tickets at the bar. Our new apprentice, Joshua Memery (apologies if I’ve spelt your name wrong Josh) has started work, one of his first tasks was laying the grass in Lloyd park in Irymple yesterday, it was a little warm but the job got done. We wish you all the best in your new position Josh. The match committee meets this Saturday at 10 am, one item on the agenda is the Program of events for the coming year, we still have a couple of spots to fill so if you would like to sponsor a day, please let Linda Hickey or myself know. Attached this week is a flyer advertising Mark Wilson’s car which he is keen to sell. Anyone looking for a vehicle you better check it out, it looks to be good value and the Golf Club gets a cut if we assist in the sale. All Mark’s info is on the attached sheet, Catch you on the Course, Cheers, Mick
