WEEKLY REPORT Croup is hitting hard again. Many calls this weekend with barky coughs and high fevers. This strain seems to be responding better to cool night air and not hot steamy shower. If you hear a horse voice and noisy breathing, bring them in for a burst of steriods. The noisy breathing is called stridor and when present is a more worrisome sign. Croup is the worst on day 3. SEE VIDEO BELOW Influenza A is hitting school aged children. High fevers and dehydration are the result. Push fluids and keep cool compresses and water bottles close. Tylenol and motrin can be helpful if they are miserable. Try epsom salts for the body aches and keep oscillo and Viracid on hand. Take them at the first sign of illness. The sooner you start the more effective they can be. I am out of the office tomorrow as the last member of my family is having surgery. Dr Zhang is covering. It is a big one, and I am scared to death. Prayers at 7 am are very much appreciated. Be back in the office wed.
