WEEKLY REPORT JULY 24th: Below are a few of the calls we responded to last week. All information is taken directly from Incident Reports. Those charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Keep your eyes open, watch each other’s backs, and notify Chamblee 911 when suspicious activity is observed. For more information, on these and other reports, go to chambleega. 7/19/13 Unlawful Conduct, Abuse of 911 13-03130 5000 block of Buford Hwy, 2AM, the suspect called Chamblee 911 and advised that he had a warrant and wanted to turn himself into police. The officer was advised by our radio dispatchers that the subject did not have a warrant and gave the subject a courtesy ride to Marta. Once the officer left, the suspect called 911 and again advised that he had a warrant. This time, he went to jail. 7/20/13 Burglary 13-03158 3000 block of Knox Ave, daytime, victim returned home and observed cash and electronics missing. The rear sliding glass door was left unlocked. 7/20/13 Burglary 13-03167 3300 block of North Hills Pkwy, overnight, the front door was kicked in and electronics and jewelry taken. 7/21/13 Attempted Robbery, Aggravated Assault 13-03174 4700 block of Buford Hwy, 4PM, the victim stated that he was using a cut through in the wood line when he was approach by three black males and one Hispanic male. One of the black males produced a silver handgun and demanded money. The victim opened his wallet and showed that he had no money to give. At that time the suspect struck the victim in the face with the gun and left a two inch long cut above his eye. Residents in the area should notify Chamblee 911 when suspicious activity is observed. In the July 18th and July 4th weekly reports there have been similar suspect descriptions involved in robberies and shootings in that area. 7/21/13 Entering Autos 13-03168 13-03170 4800 block of Buford Hwy, two vehicles parked next to each other were broken into. One had a window broken out and the others lock was broken. Karma is on its way to the suspects because one of the bags they stole was a dirty diaper bag. 7/22/13 Obstruction, Possession of Narcotics 13-03183 4700 block of Buford Hwy, 3:30AM, Officer Frye and Sgt Waasdorp stopped a suspicious vehicle with a strong smell of marijuana. A search of the vehicle found Heroin, Methamphetamine, Oxycodone, several glass pipes, syringes and scales. The female arrested began to resist and fight Officer Frye, leaving several bruises and cuts on Officer Frye. Officer Frye is fine, the suspect is in jail. 7/22/13 Auto Theft 13-03192 4300 block of North Shallowford Rd, overnight, the victim discovered his vehicle missing in the morning, went to work, returned home at 7PM and then notified 911. 7/22/13 Entering Auto 13-03190 5300 block of Peachtree Blvd, the victim took out nine thousand dollars from his bank account in cash and went to a nearby store. He placed the money under his seat and went inside. He advised he did not lock his door. When he returned the money was missing. Why you might ask, would someone not lock their door with nine thousand dollars inside… I don’t know. 7/23/13 Burglary 13-03198 300 block of Gentry’s Walk, the victim found his storage shed pried open and three thousand dollars worth of tools missing. Smart911 allows citizens to enter information through a secure web site that they want to make available to 9-1-1 operators in the event they call 9-1-1.
