WEEKLY TRAFFIC ROUND UP FOR MANNING GREAT LAKES The last week has been a busy week for the Manning Great Lakes Highway Patrol with 715 stationary random breath tests conducted and 413 mobile random breath tests conducted. A total of 8 persons were arrested on drink driving charges over the weekend alone including 3 for high range drink driving. 130 persons were detected speeding in the command a number of these were more than 30 kmph over the speed limit. A further 18 drivers were fined for driving unregistered vehicles which poses a danger to all other road users. It is very disappointing that 4 drivers were fined for not wearing their seatbelts and a further 2 drivers fined for holding and talking on their mobile phone whilst driving. Remember there have been changes to the fines structure on July 1st 2013 where the penalties for a number of offences have been increased. Please drive safely and consider other road users.
