WEEKLY UPDATE - 17TH JULY Last weekend saw the playing of an Holiday Bonanza Open day. The winner was Martin McAtamney (18) who scored 42pts, 22 on the F9 and 20 on the B9. The highlight of his round was a birdie 2 on the 14th. This gave him a one shot win over Uel Watt (15) who had 41pts, 19 out and 22 back. Uel had birdies on the 4th and 10th holes both. The rest of the field trailed back by three shots, with Rodney McAleese best of the rest on 38pts. The minor prizes went to Terry Rogers (F9) and Clark Rees (B9). The Wednesday 11 hole sweep saw local school teacher Dermot McEldowney take advantage of his extended break to win with 25pts. Second went to Billy Millar with 24 pts and 3rd was Rodney moody also with 24pts Sunday past saw the Ulster Fourball entertain Portstewart in the 4th Round 1st leg. Kilrea came away with a 3-2 victory which leaves the tie finely poised going into the away leg this Sunday 19th July. The winning partnerships for Kilrea were Noel Kelly/Joe McCloskey 7&6, Paul Kearney/Robert Kelly 1 up and Denver Johnston/Gerry Dillon 4&3. The draw for the Pairs Compettition is now on display in the Clubhouse and the 1st round has to be completed by 5th July.
