WEFT 90.1 FM invites you to celebrate and support our community supported, volunteer operated radio station at a benefit art show, opening at Indi Go Artist Co-op on Thursday, February 13th from 6-9pm. The show running through Monday, February 17th will feature original artwork created by WEFT members and friends. A portion of all proceeds from artwork sales will go directly to WEFT. In addition to the exhibition, several performances reflective of WEFT’s diverse music programming is scheduled in Indi Go’s intimate gallery space throughout the weekend. On Friday, February 14th there’s a Valentines Day Party with live music and DJ’s including Mr. Sensation and others from 9 to 11pm. On Saturday, February 15th from 2 to 3:30pm Cynthia Oliver will perform spoken word from her dance theater works along with Jason Finkelman and Ben Wheeler performing a blend of world music. Folk music will be featured on Saturday, February 15th from 8 to 11pm with Kevin Elliott, Don Willi and Mike Feldman. Blues will be featured on Sunday, February 16th from 2 to 3:30pm with Andy Duncanson of Kilborn Alley. Experimental and improvised music will be featured on Sunday, February 16th from 7 to 9pm with Noise Assembly and a solo performance by Jason Finkelman. The WEFT Art and Performance Benefit runs from February 13th to the 17th at Indi Go Artist Co-op located at 9 E. University Avenue in Downtown Champaign.
