WELCOME DAISY, NANA, AND JORDON TO FFFR! We were made aware of these three dogs, who have been living alone in an unheated building for two months or more! There had been a fire in the basement, and the building was condemned. The family moved out, but could not take the dogs with them. WELL - we absolutely could not leave them there! This afternoon our rescue President met them, evaluated them, and all three came into our rescue having been surrendered by their owner. They are now SAFE, WARM, and WELL FED! In order of appearance: DAISY is a senior dachshund, 7-9 years old. She is adorable! She also has some medical issues and will be seeing our vet ASAP. We will let you know more specifics once she is seen. NANA is a 7-year-old pit bull mama. She has been bred more than once - in fact Jordon (next on the list) is her son. Nana is a sweetheart. JORDON is a handsome brindle pit bull, about 3 years old. He is a ham - high energy, and seems like hes got springs attached to his legs at times :) They all need to relax, feel safe, and have time to realize that they will never be cold or hungry again! All three dogs will be spayed/neutered tomorrow - New Hope Spay/Neuter Clinic has agreed to do the surgery and their basic shots (rabies and distemper/parvo) free of charge. A heart-felt thank you tho them!!! Also THANK YOU to Adore-A-Bullie Paws and Claws for advocating for these dogs and pitching in to help us with expenses. Following that, they will all be seeing our vet for examinations, treatment of any medical conditions, and full vetting - including bordatella vaccine, Heartworm / Lyme tests, and fecal testing. Taking these three dogs into our rescue was totally unexpected - but it is what rescues DO! It always takes a village - we cannot do this alone.
