WELCOME TO IRRELEVANCE DEMOCRATIC VOTERS Harris County Democrats welcome to the First Day of Dan Patrick’s Righteous Revolution in The Texas Senate. Hope those folks who live in SD 4, SD 7, SD 11, SD 17 and SD 18 thank their lucky stars that they are represented by Republicans because as of today those are the only Harris County districts that will be relevant. With one fell swoop, the new Lt Governor got his new rules passed and out the door went the 2/3 rds rule and with it went the relevance of any representation by a Democratic State Senator. Watch over the next one hundred forty days and see just how much importance on the legislative process in Texas someone like a Garcia in SD 6, an Ellis in SD 13 or even the Dean of the Senate with 42 years experience, Whitmire of SD 15 has on what transpires on Austin. It’s not like folks weren’t warned what would happen if the keys of the asylum were handed over to the inmates....and still they did it anyhow, so now we will all reap what has been sown. Sleep well knowing our destiny is in the hands of folks like Brandon Creighton, Paul Bettencourt, Larry Taylor, Joan Huffman and Lois Kolkhorst with a mad scientist like Dan Patrick concocting brew after brew. Wake me when this nightmare is over and the voters finally take the right potion!
