WELL FIX THE GARBAGE PROBLEM, NKEDIANYE ASSURES Kajiado County governor, Dr David ole Nkedianye yesterday assured Kajiado residents and especially those living in the urban centres that his administration wil soon fix the garbage problem. He was speaking at KCB grounds, Kajiado town when he the county in marking the 51st Jamhuri day celebrations. Reading a prepared speech, governor added his government is committed to serve wananchi and listed the construction of several pre-primary classes and village polytechnics, rehabilitation of county roads, provision of clean and safe water at no cost to several households as some of the successes of his young administration. On the recent alleged eviction oof some businessmen of Somali origin from Mile 46 trading centre, Nkedianye termed the action by the local community as unwarranted and unacceptable. He instead challenged the community to embrace entrepreneurship as an alternative source of livelihood instead of using archaic ways bordering on criminality to ward off business competition Nkedianye also praised the new but surprise cordial relationship between the Executive and the Assembly saying many members of the Kajiado County Assembly pay him a courtesy call at his office. He extended an olive branch to the few who are still reluctant to come. Deputy governor Paul Ntiati welcomed the nomination of General ( rtd) Nkaiserry by the President and wished him well if confirmed. He also supported the County Commissioner on the need for residents not to take the law in their own hands but co-exist peacefully and harmoniously. Kello Warsame, the County Commissioner said security has greatly improved in the county but took issue with some Kajiado West politicians and pastors who he alleged to have been inciting the community at Mile 46 village against some businessmen of Somali origin. He warned them that soon the law will catch up with them. The government has ensured all the shopping malls in our urban centers have been provided with adequate security , he announced. Kajiado County women representative, Mary Seneta praised the national and county government for the recognition of the women in all its rank and file. She said that women are now serving as Cabinet Secretaries, County Executives, chief officers and so on and so forth. She added that she is drafting a bill to be tabled in Parliament to compel the Ministry of Education make sign language part of our curriculum. The ceremony was also addressed by members of county assembly present and used the podium to drum up support for a jubilee candidate during the forthcoming Kajiado central by -election. They also decried the poor state of our towns especially Kitengela an threaten those officers involved with a motion of no confidence if they fail to execute their mandate as provided by law. Others who graced the celebrations includes the County Secretary and Head of Pubic Service Dr Kerei, several members of the County Executives; Jonah Orumoi ( Health), FLorence Mutua ( Trade & Industrialization), Joesph Mapena ( Finance and Econonmic Planning) and Nancy Gathaiya ( Water) kajiado central sub county administrator Bishop Meeli, chief officers, ward administrators and wananchi from all walks of life.
