WELL IT IS SUNDAY, SO WHAT DID YOU EXPECT? Tried to hit the sack - TopicsExpress

WELL IT IS SUNDAY, SO WHAT DID YOU EXPECT? Tried to hit the sack early and watch an old Dr. Kildare movie, but was unable to fall asleep, so I decided to do what I always do when sleep wont come and listen to some of my favorite music... This double album was one of our many late night staples back in the day, and although side two was a little to countrified for my taste, all in all I cant think of a better way to spend an hour or so winding down... Sent to me by Columbia House in error, the progression of songs on sides 1, 3 and 4 just keep getting better and better and as I have reflected on several occasions, the ensuing concert at Maples Pavilion in November of 1972 was one of my all time favorites, especially as they were able to accurately recreate their studio efforts... (Which is pretty amazing considering how many overdubs usually go into a Stephen Stills recording effort.) Anyway, I think you will agree that this group of of musicians complimented each other extremely well, that is as long as they were all getting along... Chris Hillman, Joe Lala, Dallas Taylor, Al Perkins, Fuzzy Samuels, and Paul Harris join Stephen Stills for this short lived group, that ultimately fell apart do to Stills obsession with pushing everyone well beyond their limits. As a result, they finished with a second album that I have probably listened to only twice since I unwrapped it... Anyway, feel free to skip side 2, unless you feel like a little down home country. I know that I often do... Ahhhh... Now I should be able to sleep... ;-)
