WELL, to tell you frankly, I AM CHINESE (aka, Tsinoy), and I am in favor of secession from the Philippines IF IT will benefit OUR COMMUNITY. Many Tsinoys have the same mindset, ya know? Especially with the kidnapping, the racism, the murders, and the FALSE CHARGES of tax evasion against us! FILIPINOS HATRED AGAINST US CHINESE CAN CLEARLY BE SEEN IN CYBERSPACE, this forum being an excellent example! Puro patutsada at insulto nalang laban sa mga Tsinoy. Second, if you heard any Chinese saying that he or she despises CHINA, chances are, he or she is a Chinese Mestizo. As for us full Chinese, we neither hate nor despise CHINA, in fact many of us admire CHINA. We are all de facto Chinese citizens (Republic of China citizens, that is), BUT de jure Philippine nationals/citizens. According to the Constitution of the Republic of China, ALL Chinese people are considered de facto Chinese nationals, by virtue of bloodline and ancestry. As to whether we support Chinese ownership/retaking of Nansha/Spratlys, let me state this clear: 40% of pure Chinese support Chinese takeover of those islands by history, 30% supports Philippine ownership, and 30% remain undecided or wavering between the two views. And for the Sabah thing, where CHINA is NOT involved at all, 100% of us support Philippine takeover of Sabah. And for your third point, Binondo was actually CEDED to Chinese by Spanish Governor General Luis Perez y Dasmarinas back on 1594 IN PERPETUITY. Binondo was under full and complete Chinese/Tsinoy jurisdiction until the mid-18th century when Philippines was made a Spanish province and therefore every part thereof was under direct control of Madrid. The CHINESE may be small in terms of population, but our financial and economic clout definitely ensures our grip in the Philippine nation. We know that many if NOT MOST Filipinos are envious of our economic successes. And if you play a Tunku Abdul Rahman and like him kick us out of the Philippine nation just as the Tunku kicked out Singapore from Malaysia, WE WOULD GLADLY FORM OUR OWN COUNTRY WITHIN the PHILIPPINE ARCHIPELAGO, and were pretty sure it would do d@mn better than the current ruling Philippine government.
